Wiser Optomed Conducts On-Site Eye-screening Pilot to Accelerate China’s Primary Healthcare Innovation

Recently, Petri Salonen, Chairman of Optomed, and Vuokko, Head of Technology, led core colleagues from the local operations, product and support teams to conduct an on-site inspection of the AI fundus screening pilot project in Guangzhou. The project is operated by Wiser Optomed Medical Technologies Co., Ltd., the joint venture between Optomed and Wiser in China, and is being implemented at multiple primary medical institutions in Liwan District, Guangzhou.

As a key practice of the strategic cooperation between the two parties, this pilot project embodies Wiser’s "global vision + local practice" philosophy and serves as a crucial part of Optomed’s global layout in the primary healthcare sector. During the inspection, the team closely tracked the entire fundus screening process, held in-depth discussions with frontline medical staff to listen carefully to their operational challenges and optimization suggestions, and engaged cordially with residents undergoing screening to gain detailed insights into their service experience and health needs.

Through this on-site research, the team achieved tangible outcomes and summed up valuable practical experience. Focused on addressing the pain points of China’s primary medical services, the inspection enabled the team to gain a clear understanding of the current state of primary healthcare in Liwan District, the needs of medical staff, and the public’s urgent demand for convenient, efficient screening services.
