WISER signs new investment and cooperation agreements with OptiCept

WISER is glad to announce that, with the approval of the board of directors of both parties, WISER and OptiCept Technologies AB ("OptiCept") signed a new set of investment cooperation agreement to further accelerate the development of the Asian market, especially the Chinese market.

According to the Agreements, OptiCept will acquire a 10% stake in the Asian joint venture company held by WISER; at the same time, WISER will further increase its investment in OptiCept through a private placement and become its strategic shareholder. WISER will assign two directors to OptiCept Asia, and the two parties will jointly formulate the investment and development plan in the Chinese market.

At the end of 2019, ArcAroma AB and WISER established a joint venture company ArcAroma Asia in Hong Kong, each owns 50% of the shares. ArcAroma Asia has a wholly-owned subsidiary in Shanghai, responsible for operations in the Chinese market. Since 2020, although global business activities have been greatly affected by COVID19, WISER has assisted ArcAroma to actively expand its business in China and signed a series of important commercial projects and customers, including such as Coca-Cola, Tianyuan, etc., and help ArcAroma built up a solid growth base for future.

In May 2021, ArcAroma AB merged with another Swedish public listed company, OptiFreeze AB, and the new company named OptiCept. The product roadmap now covers food oil, beverages, dairy, wine, Chinese herbal medicine, flowers, vegetables, fruits, nutrition, and other food and organics processing, committed to building a global leader in the FoodTech and PlantTech industry. ArcAroma Asia is renamed as OptiCept Asia and will be responsible for all OptiCept business in Asia and China.

"We are very pleased with the commitment and potential business opportunities created by WISER. WISER's expertise and experience in China is of great value for OptiCept. We have seen great opportunities in the Chinese market. Now it is the time for us to accelerate our development in Asia." Johan Möllerström, CEO of OptiCept.
